Ambos dirigentes partidistas y el Presidente de los Consejos de Estado y de Ministros, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, asistieron como delegados de Honor a la sesión final del IX Congreso de la Federación Estudiantil Universitaria (FEU), que tuvo lugar en el Palacio de las Convenciones y que coincidió con el aniversario 63 de la partida de Fidel a su exilio en México.
